Job Description
Role Overview: As a Senior Android Audio & DSP Engineer at Aptiv, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and integrating the complete audio subsystem on Android Automotive-based infotainment platforms. Your responsibilities will include Audio HAL customization, DSP pipeline integration, audio tuning, and end-to-end debugging across various use-cases such as voice, media, navigation, and projection. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement Android Audio framework components including Audio HAL, Policy Manager, and Routing. - Integrate DSP-based audio processing pipelines such as Dirana, Qualcomm AudioReach, NXP SAF775x, TI TAS series, etc. - Define and maintain the signal-flow architecture from source to output for Mic DSP Speaker, BT, USB, and Projection. - Collaborate with platform teams on ACDB configuration, audio calibration, and DSP firmware loading. - Customize Audio HAL for automotive-specific routing and new use-cases. - Implement and validate A2DP, HFP, USB Audio, CarPlay, and Android Auto audio paths. - Integrate voice recognition and ECNR chains for Alexa, Google Assistant, etc. - Develop and tune audio post-processing algorithms including Volume Control, Tone Control, Loudness, Fader/Balance, SDVC, Limiter. - Support multi-zone audio and ANC/VESS feature integration. Qualification Required: - B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Communication, or Computer Science. Job Description
As an Audio Tuning and Testing Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in tuning, validating, and optimizing audio systems in various products like TWS earbuds, smart speakers, tablets, and voice-enabled devices. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting audio validation and tuning using tools such as Sound Check, Audio Precision, B&K, Crysound, or their equivalents - Optimizing speaker, microphone, and ANC performance, and performing tests according to standards like TIA, ITU, and IEEE for audio - Reviewing hardware schematics to suggest audio design improvements and analyzing analog/digital audio signals like waveforms, SNR, and THD - Supporting root cause analysis for hardware, firmware, and system-level issues - Working on audio algorithms like EC/NS, ANC, AGC, ICC, SRC, and speech enhancement - Maintaining test procedures, tuning logs, and certification data To excel in this role, you should have the following skills: - Solid understanding of analog/digital audio signal chains - Experience with probing, debugging, and lab-based signal analysis - Familiarity with digital interfaces like I2S, I2C, SPI, and Slimbus - Ability to read schematics and comprehend PCB-level audio paths - Hands-on experience with tools like Sound Check, APx, or B&K - Troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and software layers - Proficiency in Python or MATLAB scripting for automation and analysis - Understanding of Bluetooth audio (A2DP, HFP), Android HAL, or COMSOL (optional) It would also be beneficial to have experience in VoIP, telephony, or mobile audio, exposure to ANC tuning, EC/NS, limiter, ICC, or SRC, familiarity with Android audio KPIs and certification processes, and a basic understanding of speech recognition and enhancement. Qualifications for this position include a B.E./B.Tech degree in ECE, EEE, E&I, Audio Engineering, or a related field. In addition to technical skills, soft skills such as clear written and verbal communication, good team collaboration and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential.
