Job Description
As a Civil Design Engineer specializing in Substation projects, your role involves the detailed engineering of High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations up to 400 kV voltage levels. Your responsibilities include: - Performing civil, structural, and foundation design for AIS/GIS substations (132kV/220kV/400kV). - Preparing and reviewing GA drawings, layout plans, foundation drawings, cable trenches, control building, and equipment support structures. - Conducting design calculations for foundations, structures, and drainage systems using relevant codes (IS/IEC/BS/ASTM). - Coordinating with electrical, mechanical, and protection teams for interface and design inputs. - Developing BOQs, specifications, and construction drawings for tender and execution stages. - Reviewing vendor and contractor drawings to ensure design compliance. - Providing technical support during construction, including resolving site queries and design deviations. - Ensuring designs meet utility standards (like PGCIL, TRANSCO, SEB) and applicable international standards. - Utilizing design tools like STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc. for analysis and detailing. - Preparing design documentation, reports, and as-built drawings. - Participating in design reviews, quality checks, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Preparation of feasibility reports and design basis reports for EHV SS and distribution network projects. - Preparation of technical specifications, equipment sizing calculations, and layout drawings. - Reviewing design analysis and detailed construction drawings, vendor document reviews, witnessing factor acceptance tests. - Managing the entire projects on Technical, Schedule, and Cost. - Coordinating with all project stakeholders. Key Skills Required: - Strong understanding of substation civil engineering (AIS & GIS up to 400kV). - Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, MS Excel, and civil analysis tools. - Knowledge of IS codes, IEC standards, and PGCIL/NTPC/BHEL/SEB specifications. - Experience in foundation design for transformers, gantries, circuit breakers, and towers. - Familiarity with ground improvement techniques, drainage systems, and earthing layouts. - Exposure to building design, retaining structures, and road layouts within substations. - Familiar with PSS/ EHV SS Lines and Substation Configurations and able to choose the right configuration/technology and ratings of equipment specific to project requirements. - Knowledge of standards such as IS, IEC, IEEE, BIS related to Electrical equipment and CEA guidelines. - Knowledge of equipment and project costing (Both Capex and Opex). - Able to manage the T&D Project independently in the role of Project Lead Engineer/Project Manager. - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, effective communication and coordination skills. - Attention to detail and quality focus, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.,

Role Overview: As a designer at the company, you will be reporting directly to the Head of the Department and will be responsible for efficiently executing work packages using design tools and assisting the Discipline.
