Job Description
As a Fabric Cost Analyst, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - **Cost Analysis & Estimation**: - Prepare detailed cost sheets for all fabric qualities (woven and knitted) covering bleaching, dyeing, finishing, and printing operations. - Calculate process-wise cost including chemicals, dyes, utilities (steam, power, water), labor, depreciation, and overheads. - Support the marketing and commercial teams with accurate costing for new orders and customer quotations. - **Budgeting & Cost Control**: - Prepare annual and monthly budgets for the dyeing unit, including raw material, consumables, and utility costs. - Monitor actual expenses against standards and highlight variances to management with reasons and corrective actions. - Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process optimization, chemical substitution, and resource efficiency. - **Data Collection & MIS Reporting**: - Collect and analyze process data such as batch costing, machine efficiency, reprocessing, and wastage. - Generate periodic costing MIS reports and present cost performance vs. targets. - Coordinate with production, purchase, and stores departments for consumption and inventory reconciliation. - **Process Efficiency & Benchmarking**: - Benchmark process costs with internal standards and industry norms. - Work with production and technical teams to reduce reprocessing, optimize liquor ratios, and improve energy efficiency. - Evaluate the impact of recipe changes, shade variations, and machine parameters on cost. - **Commercial & Audit Support**: - Provide costing data for internal and statutory audits. - Support management in pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and cost negotiations with vendors and customers. - Validate and certify process-related claims from chemical and dye suppliers. - **ERP & Systems Management**: - Maintain and update cost master data in ERP / SAP systems. - Ensure accuracy of cost components and continuous improvement in data flow automation.
