Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist, your role involves utilizing ventilators, oxygen devices, and aerosol treatments to provide respiratory therapy to patients. You will work in various areas such as the emergency room, neonatal/pediatric intensive care, and surgical intensive care, treating conditions like emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia. Your responsibilities will include: - Reading and evaluating physicians' orders and patients' chart information to determine the condition and treatment protocols. - Keeping records of patients' therapy and completing all necessary forms. - Setting equipment controls to regulate oxygen, gases, mists, or aerosols flow. - Providing respiratory care using defined therapeutic techniques under physician supervision. - Assessing patients' response to treatments and modifying protocols if necessary. - Monitoring patients during treatment and reporting any unusual reactions to the physician. - Cleaning, sterilizing, checking, and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment. - Performing diagnostic procedures to assess respiratory dysfunction severity in patients. - Administering breathing and oxygen procedures such as intermittent positive pressure breathing treatments, nebulizer treatments, and incentive spirometer treatments. - Recommending and reviewing bedside procedures, x-rays, and laboratory tests. - Teaching patients how to use respiratory equipment at home. - Performing pulmonary function tests using a Spirometer and calculating lung volume and vital capacities. - Nebulizing, suctioning, and collecting sputum for analysis in the laboratory. - Listening to lung sounds using a stethoscope to evaluate respiratory problems locations and observing patient signs and symptoms. Additionally, the company offers benefits such as paid sick time, Provident Fund, yearly bonus, and a fixed day shift schedule. The work location is in person.
