Backend Developer (Java and Perl)

Job Description

As a Backend Developer at Onecom, you will be an integral part of the team behind Wave, Gradwells cloud-based VoIP phone system for SMEs. You will contribute to building and maintaining scalable services that power essential features such as call routing, reporting, and softphone integration. The Wave platform is hosted on AWS and is designed for high availability and remote access.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop backend services for the Wave platform
- Ensure performance and scalability using Java and Perl
- Collaborate effectively in Agile teams
- Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and infrastructure automation

Qualifications Required:
- Proficiency in Debian Linux
- Experience with AWS
- Familiarity with any Distributed Version Control System (DVCS)
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented (OO) principles
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Unit Testing
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum)
- Experience with CI/CD practices
- Familiarity with Atlassian Suite
- Proficiency in Java and Perl
- Knowledge of Asterisk and Kamailio is desirable
