Pipeline Technical Director

Job Description

As a Pipeline Technical Director at PhilMCGI, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining practices and exercising quality control on all aspects of the CGI/VFX pipeline
- Optimizing the pipeline and updating documentation
- Providing front-line support to artists and troubleshooting pipeline issues
- Educating artists on efficient pipeline usage
- Keeping end users and managers informed through clear communication
- Creating and updating documentation for processes and tools
- Engaging with artists and managers to understand their requirements effectively
- Managing time efficiently to meet deadlines and prioritize requests
- Coming up with innovative solutions and collaborating on problem-solving
- Managing resources and skills across multiple projects
- Handling a large team effectively

Knowledge required for this role includes:

- Passion for CG/VFX technology and art
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of Production Technology/IT methods and trends
- Strong Python programming skills in a Windows environment
- Familiarity with industry software like Maya, Nuke, Houdini, etc.
- Experience with revision control systems and coding standards

Experience expected for this position:

- Developing tools within industry software packages
- Familiarity with database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB
- Experience with large-scale production pipelines, including render farm management
- Strong understanding of project management and working under deadlines
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in the Animation and VFX Industry
