Job Description

As a Ruby on Rails Technical Lead at Carmatec, you will have the opportunity to manage a dynamic team and work with seasoned professionals dedicated to revolutionizing RoR development. Your responsibilities will include:

- Communicating and coordinating directly with clients via Skype, web meetings, and email.
- Analyzing clients" requirements and preparing technical specifications for implementations.
- Leading the team technically and ensuring technical implementation in projects.
- Developing the product and its elements as per client specifications.
- Monitoring and resolving reported problems and bugs at the project level.
- Establishing and complying with performance metrics at the team level.
- Working with QA Leads & Testers to improve code quality and project schedules.
- Providing technical advice on component architecture.
- Acquiring technical and domain knowledge of the product and its elements.
- Estimating tasks, defining detailed schedules, evaluating technologies, and contributing to design issues.
- Assisting with project plans, resource management, and technical planning.
- Interacting with off-shore Team Lead and on-shore Leads to solve complex problems and provide solutions.
- Ensuring projects are completed to a high-quality standard, on time, and within budget.
- Maintaining documentation of task status.
- Scheduling and prioritizing tasks of a small team to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Monitoring progress against schedule and taking proactive initiatives when required.

Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in developing Ruby applications.
- Ability to lead a team of developers.
- Analytical, design, development, and support skills for complex applications.
- Designing and developing complex modules in Ruby on Rails.
- Technical team mentoring including code reviews, technical mentoring, architectural oversight, and defining quality code criteria.
- Strong knowledge in Restful architecture for implementing APIs and using third-party APIs in Rails applications.
- Relational Database Design and strong SQL skills.
- Understanding of JQuery, Prototype, Ajax, and libraries.
- Experience with SVN or Git version control and Rake/Capistrano.
- Experience in Agile Development, TDD/TFD, and testing tools.
