If you got yourself a Silhouette 2mm Kraft Blade and are now like "Now what?"...you're not alone. 

I've heard this a lot lately which is why I figured it was a good time to put together a Silhouette 2mm Kraft Blade beginners tutorial to answer some of those FAQs.

New Silhouette CAMEO 4 Blades (First Look)

Three new Silhouette CAMEO 4 tools will be available to order very soon!  

The new blades allow Silhouette CAMEO 4, CAMEO 4 Plus, CAMEO 4 Pro, and Portrait 3 users to get away from using some, but not all, of the tool adapters currently needed to use tools fitted for the older model Silhouette machines. 

How to Turn Off Silhouette 3mm Kraft Blade Hooks and Loops

There's a setting buried in the Send panel that will allow you to turn off the hooks and loops that automatically turn on when using the 2mm and 3mm Silhouette Kraft Blade. 

The ability to turn off the series of hooks and loops, called Smart Cuts, often helps to cut thick, dense materials without the blade getting stuck in the material.

New Silhouette CAMEO 4 Tools Coming

Three new Silhouette CAMEO 4 tools are coming...along with the introduction of a new Silhouette tool naming and compatibility "system". 

The new Silhouette tools are expected to be available later this year and will not only fit in the CAMEO 4, but also in the 15" Silhouette CAMEO Plus, CAMEO Pro, and Portrait 3. 

How to Turn Off the Silhouette Kraft Blade Loops

If you've cut with the Silhouette 2mm or 3mm Kraft blades you've probably wished you could turn off those loops at some point.

The loops are what the software uses to tell the machine to turn the blade so it can cut in a different direction. Sometimes, though, they are more trouble than they are worth.

How to Guestimate the Best Silhouette Cut Settings for Materials Not on the Material List

With the release of the new Silhouette Kraft Blades, a lot of users are trying to figure out what cut settings work best for various materials.

Unfortunately the 2mm and 3mm Kraft blades were released prior to when the cut settings, for the large majority of the materials they can cut, are available in the Silhouette Studio software.
