Vinyl Nail Decal Tips and Sizing Guidelines: Silhouette Tutorial
Tuesday, May 14, 2024
If you've joined the vinyl nail art club - welcome! I've been using vinyl to decorate my own, as well as my daughter's finger and toenails, for almost as long as I've owned a Silhouette. Whenever I share a photo of our vinyl nail art I get questions - most about cutting such small designs and sizing the decals. Today I am going to answer the three biggest questions I get about Silhouette vinyl nail designs so you can get decorating your nails, too!

Halloween Nail Art Set: Free Silhouette Studio Cut Files
Thursday, October 7, 2021
My daughter and I love to do DIY holiday manicures - so this week, for Freebie Friday, I'm sharing a recent set I created for some fun Halloween vinyl nail art!
The set, which you can download below, includes three sizes of pumpkins (sized for adults and kids), #31, dots and stripes. Everything is already sized to fit 'average' nails. I'm assuming the two us are average haha....so don't resize the shapes.
Silhouette {Heart} Nail Art Tutorial
Friday, January 24, 2014
My little girl loves to have her nails painted - but what she loves even more is the few times she's actually gone to the salon and they've done a cool design on her nails. I do not have a steady hand so I'll have no part of that, but I recently saw a really cool idea on Marvelous Mommy. She put mustache nail art on her toes...how freakin' cute!
So for Valentine's Day I thought it would be cool to make some little vinyl Silhouette nail art using hearts! There are two ways to do this - you can actually use the vinyl as the nail art and keep it on the nail like a sticker or you can use the cut out as a stencil and paint the design on the nail then peel off the vinyl. It would even be cut to do a combination of both! Since I didn't have white nail polish on hand, I decided to use the white vinyl as the actual nail design.
First, I created the design in Silhouette. I had purchased this heart and arrow design set a while back so I just ungrouped it and deleted everything I didn't need.
