The Silhouette Pixscan mat is used for two main purposes: to accurately and preciously cut pre-printed materials (like a print and cut for pre-printed materials) and also to sketch, etch or cut with extreme accuracy on very small craft blanks or vinyl scraps.

How to Clean Dirty Silhouette Cutting Mats

If your Silhouette cutting mats have lost their stick or are excessively dirty there is a simple way to clean them.

Trying to restick Silhouette cutting mats is not something that I recommend - as it's impossible to get them back to their original adhesive level.  However, if you have a cutting mat that looks like this one after cutting felt, leather, or some other 'fuzzy' material you can clean it to extend the life.

WRMK Foil Quill Battery Pack Review

15 Silhouette Accessories You Need (and Want) to Get Started

I'm often asked "What else do I need to get started with my Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait?" The answer isn't always easy...because it kind of depends on what material type you'd like to focus on to start.

My suggestion is to pick one material: vinyl, paper, heat transfer vinyl, fabric, or sketch pens and learn the basics before moving on. But in order to do the basics you need a few accessories to get started (unless you purchased a Silhouette CAMEO Bundle that has what you need to get started out of the box)....and there's a difference between what you need and what you will want to add on later on!
