Cell reproduction involves two main processes - mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis is the division of the nucleus and results in identical daughter cells. Cytokinesis then divides the cytoplasm and completes the formation of two daughter cells from one parent cell. A key difference between plant and animal cell division is that animal cells use centrioles and constriction to divide the cytoplasm, while plant cells form a cell plate to divide without constriction or centrioles.
