Virtual Teamwork Presented  By  Ella Brown Anchorage School District
Teamwork with educators Teachers and executives from General Electric company worked on a mutual project. Together, they discussed what were schools doing to prepare students for the world.

What is Virtual teamwork? The GE Team wanted the students to be involved in projects that required them to work collaboratively. None of the educators ever heard of virtual teamwork.
The Heart of Business Virtual collaborations are at the heart of the way business is now being done. Individuals in the business world are expected to work cooperatively.
Components of Virtual   Collaborations Sharing documents Running products tests over time zones Real time discussions Dialog through online approaches All are essential to participating and thriving in a global market.

Virtual Teamwork in Virginia Virtual collaborations teams have worked across six rural school systems in central Virginia.
Results on Virtual Teamwork Students participating in the project have experienced 91% of success.  Through their participation online they have been able to learn more about the subject and clarify their opinions through discussions.
Research on Plants Virtual collaborative teams are now working on research projects involving unlocking the DNA of plant species. Teams conduct same experiments in different school districts. Online collaboration to share results and discoveries.
Sharing the Research The concluding research allows the students to create reports, spreadsheets for a presentation to scientists at Virginia Tech.
Conclusion Virtual collaboration is bringing students into the emerging story of scientific discovery.
