All about Gible Pokémon

Garchomp is an incredibly well-known and powerful Pokemon, but all Pokemon had to start somewhere. The dual dragon/ground type Gible is that start, and it's a good one.

Pokedex EntryGible prefers to stay in narrow holes in the sides of caves heated by geothermal energy. This way, Gible can stay warm even during a blizzard. Gible attacks anything that moves, and it drags whatever it catches into the crevice that is its lair. Despite the big mouth, Gible's stomach is small.

Appearance of Gible

Gible is like the shortest shark in the world. It has all the basic shapes but squished horizontally and with some stubby little arms and legs added. Its gigantic mouth is definitely its star feature, however, it almost comically has a very small stomach that can't keep up with the mouth.

Appearance of Gible

Behavior of Gible

Gible is a brainless little biting machine. The adorable ball of scales and teeth sits in warm caves, and the moment it sees anything move, it launches into action and bites whatever it can get its teeth on.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Gible’s dragon/ground typing is a pretty good one. It is resistant against poison, rock, and fire-type moves and takes half damage from them. It is also immune to electric-type moves. Though it does take double damage from dragon and fairy type moves as well as quadruple damage from ice type moves.

Evolutions of Gible

The Evolutions of Gible are more well known than Gible itself. Gabite is a common opponent in Diamond and Pearl in the midgame and can prove to be a good challenge, however, the peak of the Evolutions of Gible is Garchomp. The Evolutions of Gible are epitomized by this powerhouse of a shark-dragon. Garchomp is notoriously strong and well known as the ace of Sinnoh’s champion, Cynthia.

Best Moveset for Gible

Defensive Stealth Rock: Gible isn’t the strongest unevolved Pokemon but it is a tanky one. This makes it ideal for staying out for a while and setting up moves like Stealth Rock in order to lock down the enemy team’s options.

How to Catch Gible in Pokemon Go

Gible is a notoriously rare Pokemon in Pokemon Go. It barely ever appears in the wild so the better way to get it is through eggs. Gible only hatches from 10 Km eggs, which while it is less rare, 10 Km eggs are rare and take forever to hatch.

Trivia

In the anime, Gible’s evolution line appeared in reverse order, with Garchomp coming first, then Gabite, then Gible.

Gible may be based on land sharks which are described in the book ‘After Man.’

FAQs

Ash’s Gible currently resides with Professor Oak, given to him after Ash completed his adventures in the Sinnoh region.

Q. What moves does Gible know?

Gible can learn some strong dragon and ground-type moves like Bulldoze, Dragon Claw, and Dig.
