Sunflower of Peace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our vision is Ukraine that is free, independent, democratic, and peaceful: a society where all people can thrive. Our current mission is dictated by the dark realities of Russia's full-scale, brutal invasion: we work to empower Ukrainians to survive and withstand the grave challenges of this war by fulfilling their medical, humanitarian, and psychological needs. With offices both in the United States and in Ukraine and an extensive global network of volunteers, we can identify critical gaps, procure needed supplies, and deliver our aid to Ukraine's most dire destinations. In all we do, we are guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, agility, and collaboration. Volunteers are the heart, brain, and engine of our operations. Sunflower of Peace is a global movement that empowers all supporters of Ukraine to make a lasting and meaningful impact.
At present, our efforts revolve around four principal goals: to HEAL, GIVE LIGHT, ELEVATE, and GIVE HOPE.
HEAL: Tactical Medicine Program is our flagship effort, featuring medical backpacks filled with carefully curated critical medical supplies. We provide several backpack versions to accommodate different levels of training of military medics who will use them. One large backpack costs ~$1,000 and can help save 10-12 lives.
GIVE LIGHT: Our energy program aims to mitigate the effects of war-related energy disruptions and Russia's callous targeting of civilian infrastructure. We identify, procure, and distribute different types of generators to military medics and civilians in need.
ELEVATE: We provide humanitarian aid and financial assistance to non-governmental and non-profit organizations in Ukraine that serve vulnerable populations: children, women, seniors, and people with disabilities. We are also developing an initiative to bolster psychological help for people from the de-occupied territories.
GIVE HOPE: Our Special Initiatives Program was created to accommodate the dynamic and ever-changing needs that emerge in the times of war. From gas masks to thermal wear, we aim to respond to urgent requests from military medics and civilians most affected by the war.
The support of the global community has been crucial for Sunflower of Peace to be able to pursue its life-saving mission. Generous monetary contributions, along with generously shared volunteer time and expertise, enable us to provide high-quality, targeted, effective, and efficient aid.
