BE IT KNOWN ...

The latest post is at my Substack site, One damn thing after another.
I know, I seem fickle; I switched from an older platform to this one only nine months ago.
But I've grown tired of cross-posting to Substack. And I'm less fickle than dumb: Cross-posting also caused URL mayhem like the world has never seen. Where the hell is he? — this Carpenter dude. Is he there, at this dot-com? Is he at the older dot-com? Or is he, perhaps, to be found now and then at pmcarpenter.substack.com?
Another issue. Not that I've ever had an army of commenters flailing around in search of the proper front at which they can unload their critiques of my offerings — here or over there. But those who do comment have been divided onto this site and that one. Now the posts' usually zero comments can be consolidated into one hollow.
And another. In rather short order I may restrict full posts to paid subscribers. I mean, c'mon, paid means a mere $5 a month. Or as PBS would put it, less than 17 cents a day. Your choice. I enjoy writing. I don't enjoy writing for free. Like every human's labor, mine is worth something.
When I made the January jump from one platform to another, readership inexplicably plunged. I say inexplicably because readership wasn't nosediving beforehand. Yet it did immediately upon moving; it has remained anemic, despite my plastering the new URL in oversized font at the top of the former site.
So in moving to Substack alone, readership will likely be butchered again, even though once again, I say this site has moved ...
HERE.
I hope to see you there.
