Finding a parking space can be quite difficult, not to mention the problems associated with possible restrictions. To avoid the parking nightmare, read our simple guide where you can and cannot park. Of course, the most obvious parking spot will be in a designated area, in the parking lot or off the road.
They will be marked with a white letter āPā on a blue background, usually along the parking and signage. Some parking spaces will be free, others are paid, and some may have restrictions on the type of vehicle they can park there. There may also be time limits or exceptions for those who do not have permission – it is always worth checking signs for more information before leaving your car.
In addition to the points listed above, you should not stop or park in the following places, except when you are forced to do it in stationary traffic:
- Near the entrance to the school
- Anywhere where emergency vehicles can’t access
- At the bus or tram station or a taxi rank
- Approach to the level crossing
- Against or at a distance of 32 feet from the intersection, except for the permitted parking
- Near the hill or humpback bridge
- Opposite a traffic island of traffic or another parked vehicle (if it causes an obstacle)
- Where you would force another vehicle to enter the tram lane
- Where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchairs and mobile users
- Entrance of the property
- On a bend
- Bike Lane
- A path that includes a zone marked by zigzag lines
- On the roadway or on a motorway (except in emergencies)
