Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor, director, screenwriter and musician. His first moment of glory was when he was child, he starred in Disney Channels’ Mickey Mouse club in 1993. He has received numerous awards such as MTV Movie Awards, Teen Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards for his acting skills.
After starting his career as a child actor at The Mickey Mouse Club, he appeared in a few family entertainment series, including Are You Afraid of the Dark, Goosebumps, Breaker High and Young Hercules. He became a popular television figure after this broadcast. This made him more confident to transition from television to the movies successfully. At first, it was difficult for him to find a film role due to the stigma attached to children’s television. However, he did manage to get the lead role of a young Jewish neo-Nazi in director Henry Bean The Believer, in 2001. Although the film was a commercial failure, he was noticed and praised for his performance. He continued to appear in numerous films, including Murder by Numbers, Entertainment Weekly and The United States of Leland.
Two of his most success films that have reshaped his career were Notebook (2004) and Half Nelson (2006). In the romantic drama, Notebook, which was the film adaptation of the same name by Nicholas Sparks, he played opposite Rachel McAdams. This film has proven to be the most commercial blockbuster movie for which it is still best known. He won four Teen Choice Awards and one MTV Movie Award for this film. Two years later, his other remarkable film, Half Nelson, in 2006, played a drug addict high school teacher who created a bond with a young student. He was nominated for an Oscar for this film. Some of his other notable films include Lars and the Real Girl, Fracture, Blue Valentine, The Boston Globe and All Good Things, Crazy Stupid Love, Gangster Squad and Only God Forgives.
Ryan Gosling is also interested in music. He made a solo recording called “Put Me in the Car” in 2007. He was also part of a group called Dead Man’s Bones. They launched their first album in 2009. Under this group, he performed on stage and made numerous tours. He also supports various social causes. As if he has worked with PETA several times. He is a supporter of Invisible Children Inc, a group that raises awareness of the LRA in Central Africa.
