Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. Once those credits roll on Chapter 3, you can’t help but scream, ‘What’s going on,’ and the sad truth is that you need to wait until PPC4 to see how it all unfolds. Of course, we have some theories as to what is going to happen, but the reveal of new toys and characters does throw a spanner in the works.
To discover more about Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, we suggest you read up on Poppy Playtime’s CatNap, Poppy Playtime’s DogDay, Poppy Playtime’s Kissy Missy, and Poppy Playtime’s Poppy, as they all play a part in the story and are waiting for you in Playcare.
Here’s what we know so far about Poppy Playtime Chapter 4:
What is Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 called?
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is officially known as Safe Haven, which is ironic given I feel anything but safe anytime I set foot in this hellish factory.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 release date estimate
The wait has been long, but we finally have a release date for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, January 30, 2025.
Is there a Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 trailer?
Yes, there are actually three Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 trailers for you to enjoy, as well as a small teaser video on X. The first trailer is a small teaser that centers on a Mini Dog Day walking into a room full of dead toys. Suddenly, it’s attacked and eaten by a brand new toy and the first of the Poppy Playtime Nightmare Critters, Baba Chops.
The second Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 trailer introduces the main antagonist of the chapter, Poppy Playtime’s Yarnaby. The two-minute clip gives you a look at what the next area of the factory looks like, and trust us when we say this looks to be the creepiest chapter yet.
As for the 45-second teaser clip Mob Entertainment shared on X on December 7, it showcases Poppy Playtime’s Pianosaurus, yet another toy that’s set to give you nightmares upon the release of Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. The video shows you the trailer Playtime Co. created for the toy on a computer, only for the actual thing to emerge from behind the PC, giving you a look at one of the most terrifying toys yet.
Finally, the third and most recent trailer for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is so eerie, introducing a character known as The Doctor. We’re not even going to describe what happens. You need to watch this one for yourself.
Who is the villain of Poppy Playtime Chapter 4?
While we had numerous theories about who the big bad of Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 might be, including thoughts on Poppy Playtime’s Boxy Boo following his appearance in The Hour of Joy videotape, but the toy of this hour is Yarnaby, another being that used to be one of the orphans of Playcare. We don’t know too much about his involvement, only that he’s to serve as the main antagonist of Chapter 4.
However, he isn’t the only enemy you need to worry about in the next game, as the Nightmare Critters make their debut in Chapter 4 as well, the scarier version of the Poppy Playtime Smiling Critters. Then there’s Pianosaurus, who, after that chilling teaser clip, gives us the impression that he’s ready to make our lives a living hell. Given he’s the first musical toy to appear, we can’t help but wonder if sound will have something to do with his involvement.
Finally, there’s a character known as The Doctor that we need to worry about, and we have good reason to believe he’s the one watching you through the cameras.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4’s story
With the release of the Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 trailers, it seems clear that the Nightmare Critters have some sort of role to play, as does Pianosaurus, while Yarnaby is clearly the big bad of the chapter, serving as a security measure in what we believe to be a prison. However, we still have some theories, though some may just be wishful thinking:
Kissy Missy
Kissy Missy is a true pal in Chapter 3, cementing our prior beliefs from Chapter 2 that she’s one of the good guys. As Chapter 3 draws to a close, Kissy ensures that Poppy and we are on the elevator, pulling the level to send us down as she can’t fit on the lift with us – we maintain she could have, there was enough room – needing to get the next one instead. As we begin our descent, we hear Kissy screeching; she needs our help. We have no doubt that this is an altercation between her and another toy, possibly the Prototype itself.
There’s no doubt that it’s Kissy Missy screaming, leading us to speculate that while we’re likely to explore another new area in Chapter 4, it’s not going to be us going ‘even deeper’ than we’ve been before. We think we need to go on a rescue mission, there’s no way Mob would kill off Kissy Missy off-screen, we refuse to believe that. Kissy is becoming a pivotal character and is too important to get rid of that easily. Regardless of what’s going on, we’re coming for you, Kissy Missy.
Our minds immediately go to the Prototype as the one to attack Kissy Missy, but perhaps it’s actually the mysterious Smiling Critter sheep that attacked her. This would make sense given all of the Smiling Critters called Playcare home, so surely this sheep was never too far away – perhaps they were watching our interactions with CatNap from the shadows, or maybe the Prototype unleashed them after CatNap’s failure.
The Prototype
We know that the big bad is collecting pieces from the other toys, and after what he did to CatNap, all bets are off. So, while we suspect the sheep of being our enemy (and maybe Boxy Boo), that doesn’t necessarily mean he supports the Prototype, though it certainly seems more likely that they are if we’re correct in our previous assumption about them attacking Kissy Missy.
Though it’s unlikely that Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 (our money is on at least five chapters) is the last entry in the franchise, we suspect we’ll still learn plenty more about the Prototype. Chapter 3 is a real eye-opener, so we imagine Mob will keep the momentum going in terms of tidbits about Experiment 1006.
Ollie
We know precious little about Poppy Playtime’s Ollie, the kid who helps you through Playcare. Well, we’re assuming he’s a kid from the sound of his voice, but given all the toys killed the children ten years ago, we think there’s a lot more to him than Chapter 3 tells us. He’s clearly Poppy’s longtime ally, as he helps you after Poppy tells him about you.
He knows much about Playcare, and if we’re right about possibly going back up there to save Kissy Missy, Ollie might be on hand to help us once more. No matter what direction Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 goes in, we’re sure it involves Ollie in some way.
There are also a couple of pretty cool possibilities when it comes to Ollie; he might actually be a toy, perhaps Baby Long Legs, Poppy Playtime’s Boogie Bot, or maybe even the Prototype himself. Out of the two, we certainly lean more towards him being a toy, though we can’t deny how sinister it would be if Experiment 1006 had killed the real Ollie and used his voice. It makes us think of FNAF’s Mimic, an animatronic who can mimic the voices of people, and there’s no denying that the FNAF games are an inspiration for Poppy Playtime to an extent.
And that concludes what we know about Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. Of course, we’ll add and change theories as we get more information. Who knows, another run or two of Deep Sleep might shine a light on things we previously overlooked.
