Briana Bosch on Instagram: "I’ll meet you all in the pumpkin tunnel. (Want the video link showing the construction of this baby? Just comment “tunnel” and I’ll shoot it your way). In the meantime, just remember you’re an adult and you can hide in your garden anytime you want. 🙃 #gardening #trellis #explore #garden #homestead"
The Disco Garden on Instagram: "One of our most asked-about things? Our in-ground vermicompost bins. So let’s dive in! 🪱✨ Our worm homies are the VIPs of our garden disco. We absolutely love them!! Because of that, these bins are a core part of our garden blueprint whenever we set up new beds—because they turn kitchen scraps into pure garden gold right where it’s needed. We make ours out of hardware cloth, but you can also thrift a wire waste bin or bury a 5-gallon bucket with holes. However you do it, trust me—the worms will show up for the party. 🪩 🪱 Want to supercharge your bin? Toss in some red wigglers! You can order them from @unclejimswormfarm or just lay out some moist cardboard and let your local worm squad roll in. From there, just drop in your kitchen scraps and let ‘em d
Briana Bosch on Instagram: "Does your soil need a 🌸 spring refresh? 🌸 This is my go-to recipe for amending containers or raised beds! Not only is this very affordable, it’s mild (alfalfa is a 2.5-0.5-2.5 NPK— low in P, important for those of us with a history of high phosphorus in our garden soil from too much compost. So while it’s always best to get a soils test at least every few years to keep an eye out for nutrient overload, you can also apply this one without much worry. this recipe is adapted from the @rodaleinstitute. Alfalfa also contains a natural growth hormone called triacontanol, which can improve plant growth and flavor, too. I buy 40 lb bags of organic alfalfa pellets for around $40 (it’s best to source organic as alfalfa commonly has high rates of herbicide application)
