Pierre Balmain

Pierre Balmain House of Balmain (1914-1982) known for sophistication and elegance of New French style or New Look of Paris couture following World War II and Jolie Madame style. Together with Balenciaga and Dior, he was one of the Big Three in the heyday of haute couture in the 1950s. Balmain’s dresses for royalty, movie stars, costume design for films, broadways and perfumes. The fashion house today is very different from where it begun over half century ago but his name and legacy continue.
