One big tip I have for this technique is, use a smaller brush when applying the darker paint around the edge of the petal. You want to make sure you have a nice and controlled bleed so you don’t want to have too much water or paint on your brush. Let me know how it goes in the comments below! Happy painting! #watercolor #watercolour #beginnerwatercolor #beginnerwatercolor #watercolortutorial | EmJ Lefebvre

51K views · 11K reactions | I used a piece of masking tape torn lengthwise for the snow on the branch. You’ll notice I’m taking the easy way and hiding the feet again, but then snow‘s especially good for that😅 Colours used: Winsor blue (red shade), alizarin crimson, Indian yellow and indigo (just mixed into the black and dark brown branch so any black or similar colour would do). Opaque white just for the splattered snow and fixing the highlight in the eye. #artreels #watercolor #winterpainting #paintingprocess #watercolours #birdpainting | Rebecca Rogers

12K views · 3K reactions | It’s my favourite time of year!❄️ Winsor blue is perfect for a bright winter sky - and it’s easier to lift than ultramarine at least. Warm Indian yellow seemed just right for the little yellowhammer. #watercolor #watercolourbirds #aquarelle #artreels #paintingprocess | Rebecca Rogers

34K views · 2.3K reactions | Another little loose salt winter tree scape on this first day of winter 🥰. I used a combination of @mashaswatercolors blues and lots of water on this one. Hence the extra drying time and the slightly less dramatic outcome. My best recommendation is to play. Do a page of test runs with different paint types and amounts of water. Use good 100% cotton paper. Any salt will work. ☺️ #wintersolstice #winterart #watercolorwinter #watercolorlandscapes | Amber Lane Art

116K views · 16K reactions | Day 5 of our 12 days of watercolor holiday card making. We had to paint a watercolor wreath in this series right? To see the details of how I painted the pinecones, check out the reel I posted earlier today. Just a reminder: 80% of you in my stories voted yes to repost these designs from last year on the feed so they are easier to access for card making this year. New designs coming December 1st! 🎄 | Kristin Van Leuven | Watercolor artist and instructor
