I have hiiiight expectation of this series I wish it's not like the movie because watching the movie was depressing. My expectations are so hight because the real show-producers are a part of the Netflix adaptation.. I hope they find a great cast.. good locations and it'll be perfect.

So If you have been wondering how Appa bred and why there are so so many flying bisons here is the answer: During a San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Avatar Aang found a whole new herd of sky bison. The new subspecies has a few differences, for example: old bison had four transversed strips plus the last one, that lies at the end of the tail, whereas the new species has more strips that are thinner. The new bison also have brown fur on their ears instead of white.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Appa - the main mode of transportation for the protagonist party. He is a flying bison - an almost extinct animal in the Avatar universe. He has 3 pairs of legs, and flies using his tail as a means of power. Once in the air, he uses his tail for balance and as a rudder. His tail is also a strong weapon in battle; either bludgeoning foes or creating powerful gusts of wind by flapping it. He does not speak, he only communicates in low guttural grunts and sighs.
