This book is about two brothers who have left home to live in a small apartment and work in the fields of California. The younger brother is a college student named Jesse and his older brother is a hard worker named Abel. As the story follows, the two brothers meet other like-minded individuals who share the same struggle of reaching the American dream even in its most humbling quality. Randolph would like this title because of its setting during the days of Cesar Chavez and the Vietnam War.
