These designs were created using samples from the original Morris Company. William Morris (1834 – 1896), the founder of the company, was an English textile designer, poet and novelist. He was a major contributor to the British Arts and Crafts Movement and the revival of traditional British textile arts. Morris and Company, founded in 1861, produced some of the most exciting fabrics and wallpapers of the era. Also are the designs of an employee, William De Morgan's fantastical birds and animals.
