Marc Newson

Australian Industrial designer Marc Newson has been described as one of the most influential designers of his generation. He is a self-proclaimed perfectionist and believes that design involves much more than surface appearance - he is obsessive about the inner working details. He is a prolific designer, across multiple disciplines. He has designed the first class cabin of a QANTAS A380, luggage for luxury house Louis Vuitton, collaborated with G-Star clothing on numerous collections and worked with tech and aviation companies. For this reason, his work now accounts for almost 25% of the total contemporary design art market. The Lockheed Lounge, from his first ever exhibition, is now an icon over twenty years later and has set three consecutive world records at auction. It was this lounge that featured in Madonna's 'Rain' film clip, immortalising it in pop culture.
