This portrait of several black baseball greats was done for Revolutionary Comics. Negro league pitcher Satchel Paige is in the center...I actually talked to his catcher on the phone while doing research! Watercolor.
Nolan Ryan, done for the same friend I did the Barry Saunders piece for, watercolor. The white bar on the bottom was meant for an article title or autograph space.
One of my tennis heroes, John McEnroe, done loooong ago in ink and watercolor. Still available.
This is the actual printed autograph card I did for Midway Games while I was working there (of Kordell Stewart). Watercolor.
This was done for a T shirt company, and all the uniforms had to be made up, since no actual teams were represented. Watercolor, still available.
Unfortunately, I cannot find a good image of this painting other than the actual published comic. Patrick Ewing, watercolor.
Barry Saunders is depicted here in watercolor, done for a friend's sports publication.
Sports Art for Sale - Fine Art America
This piece was a chore to do! Actually, Steve McQueen's face in the middle was replaced, since the company (Bell Helmets) could not secure the rights. You can see the final image at http://fineartamerica.com/featured/bell-helmets-ken-meyer-jr-a3595.html as well as order a print.
Barkley by Ken Meyer jr
Actually the second Charles Barkley painting I have done, this one was done for a T-shirt company, watercolor.
Dr J by Ken Meyer jr
This vignette image of the great Dr. J, Julius Earving, was done for a T-shirt manufacturer, watercolor.
Billie Jean King 1 by Ken Meyer jr
Billie Jean King, a pioneer in women's sports, is depicted here in watercolor for a T-shirt manufacturer. I had to change the face a bit for the final product, but I like this version the best.
Tennis snapshot by Ken Meyer jr
This was done for a poster design class while finishing my BFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design and features three of the popular/highly ranked players of that time, Federer, Roddick, and Lleyton Hewitt. Watercolor.
Jim Abbott by Ken Meyer jr
Jim Abbott, a one handed pitcher, is depicted here (done for a comic book cover), watercolor.
