Our “Dreadnought Serge” cloth was originally launched in 1906, the same year that the Royal Navy launched HMS Dreadnought, the first of the Dreadnought generation of battleships. It was also the year that Dugdale Bros & Co moved to our current HQ, in Northumberland Street, Huddersfield. Hugely popular in the years between the wars, this cloth was in great demand as clothing moved away from the heavier weights that had been produced for military use.
