9.9K views · 2K reactions | ➡️ Comment the word “GREEN” for the full product list sent to your inbox! 📥 #sponsored 🌳 This antique dresser was gifted to us and we didn’t realize until we go up close that all the details and different “wood” colors were all just painted on - yes; even the Burl if you look closely! 🤯 🌳 The original artist did a wonderful job, but we knew sanding out all the problem areas would remove the lines - so we decided to be controversial and give it a pop of color! Save these steps: - removed dust and cleaned with Clean Slate - used our fav sander with 180 grit to scuff everywhere and an additional 220 on the top and legs where we planned to stain (remove dust) - Sprayed two layers of One Hour Miracle Paint in Cherbourg - used their wedge brush to paint on two layers of the New Matte Sealer (sanding with 220 between) - wiped the wood with Mind Your Own Beeswax to seal and protect ✅✅ Are you glad we saved the wooden detail on top? 467K views · 62K reactions | Would you believe me if I said I didn’t have to sand those drawer fronts or barely any of this massive dresser 👀 I was determined NOT to sand all those details, but I knew I wanted a natural look. I tried out a few methods on this piece, all worked fine but in the end what worked best was scrubbing it with acetone and watching the finish fall off 🤌🏻 The tan wash I used was a 1:1 ratio of ‘turbo tan’ by Valspar and water. Aging wax is by Magnolia Home.
