Elm
Dutch elm disease nearly wiped out American elms during the 1960s and '70s. Much work has gone into developing new types of elms worthy of planting back into our landscapes, including these pictured below. In general, these elms are easily adapted to a wide range of soil types, tolerate drought and are resistant to most problematic diseases and insect pests.
