Chunky Yarn Winter Wear
Knit projects that use mostly size US 10 or larger needles & similar crochet patterns. I've been buying up bags of chunkier mill-end yarn w/coupons at AC Moore & Joann & use big needles to make a bunch of winter accessories to donate in freebie baskets w/care/gift tags at my local food pantry/community outreach center. They accept new handmade or purchased accessories in every size for their client families.

Do you knit, crochet, or sew Check w/your local charities & see if any accept donations of new or handmade winter accessories for their clients & get others on board to donate! Chunky yarns work up quickly & simpler scarf patterns are easy to work on while waiting for your kids, taking in TV shows, etc. Complex ones for when you have time to focus! Dig thru your stash & make some multicolor ones or stop at the craft stores w/spare coupons to grab mil end bags. Note any allergens on tags.
