Rita Hayworth

Rita Hayworth was an American actress, perhaps best-known for her lead role in the film noir 'Gilda' (1946). Her father was Spanish; her mother, who performed with the Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway in New York City, was Irish-English. During WWII she was the top pinup girl for the GIs. According to Rita: "I never really thought of myself as a sex goddess; I felt I was more a comedian who could dance."
