V for Peace ?
The V sign is a hand gesture in which index and middle fingers are raised and parted, while the other fingers are clenched. It is most commonly used to represent the letter V as in "victory", as a symbol of peace (usually with palm outward). Similar sign was used in protests against the Vietnam War and by the counterculture as a sign of peace. Because the hippies of the day often flashed this sign (palm out) while saying "Peace", it became popularly known (through association) as the peace sign.

“She volunteered to defend Kobani against the Islamic State and risk her life,” Drott writes. “It’s an affront to her that some people think that’s not enough, but that more fantastic details have to be invented, and it also devalues the very many completely true and even more fantastic stories coming out of Kobani. Unfortunately, there’s not an iconic picture for every fantastic story, and vice versa.”
