The Steampunk Forum at Brass Goggles - Index
A very fine specimen of the early frock coats. The waist supression is evident as well as the wide skirting. Lapels depedent upon the whims of fashion was generally more ample. The buttons at this stage seemed rather large, and can be both cloth covered (or a plethora of materials) or brass. The shoulders are natural and not structured. Contrary to popular portrayal, flapped pockets were not de rigeur on these coats.
