Cuando Robin Thicke y el productor Pharrell realizaron "Blurred Lines" basándose en "Got To Give It Up", el viejo éxito de Marvin Gaye, seguramente no se imaginaron que la canción llegaría a ocupar el número uno y suscitar varias polémicas, debido al más que probable plagio y al contenido deliberadamente sexista de su video. El resto del álbum incluye varios temas bailables de corte similar (aunque de inferior calidad) que otorgan a la placa un tono relajado e informal. Los mejores momentos llegan cuando Thicke pone su característica voz de falsete al servicio del soul, como en "Ooo La La" o la balada "4 The Rest Of My Life".
