Ça n’est un secret pour personne : les albums solos de Ringo Starr, sympathiques soient-ils, n’ont jamais chamboulé l’histoire du rock. La copie rendue n’est évidemment jamais honteuse mais elle reste rarement gravée dans les mémoires… Cette fois pourtant, le batteur des Beatles semble s’être plus appliqué qu’à l’accoutumée. Gorgées de nostalgie, les belles chansons de Give More Love ont de la tenue. Surtout qu’elles sont portées par un casting assez fou réunissant notamment Paul McCartney, Steve Lukather, Joe Walsh des Eagles, Peter Frampton, Jeff Lynne d’Electric Light Orchestra, l’ex-Eurythmics Dave Stewart, Edgar Winter, Don Was, Greg Leisz et Benmont Tench. © CM/Qobuz
