<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Born in 1974, I got my license in 1999. I am a member of the German <a href="http://www.darc.de">DARC.e.V.</a>, my DOK is <a href="http://www.g40.info">G40</a> (Pulheim).</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">For  rag-chewing I am a user of DMR. You can find me in the Brandmeister DMR network, TG26245.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">For my pleasure, I prefer CW-operation on HF and VHF. Okay, SSB is not so bad at all... but it&#39;s just not the same. :-)</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">I am a Member of the german <a href="https://www.agcw.org/index.php/en/">AGCW</a> (#3236). This is the largest club for CW-friends in Germany.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">For the preparation of our FT-8 experiment with <a href="https://www.qrz.com/db/DR4K">DR4K</a> I also tried this mode. FT8 is an impressive mode of operation that allows to receive even the weakest stations safely. In my opinion, FT8 is a game changer in amateur radio. Even if I don&#39;t enjoy this mode, I am happy about many OP, who operate FT8 with enthusiasm. Everyone should do the mode of operation he likes. Amateur radio is a hobby with many different aspects. My personal favorite still remains CW.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">In 2019 I began to work via <a href="https://amsat-dl.org/eshail-2-amsat-phase-4-a/">QO 100/Es&#39;Hail 2</a> which gives you fantastic possibilities to speak to half the world - only using a 60 cm dish.</span></p>

Operating in CW is a pleasure, working two stations with 150 Hz spacing is no problem. Full bands in the evening on 40 or 80 meters are no problem either. With the two receivers you have pretty good chances in the pile-up. </span></p>

My old ICOM 275E was a very sensitive receiver, but in the contest you have strong stations nearby that cause disturbances. The Kuhne-transverter is a superb front-end for good shortwave-rigs, such as an Elecraft K3/KX3 or similar. The output power of 25 wtts is sufficient to drive a power-amplifier. There is also an input for a 10 MHz reference-signal to get just a fantastic stability.</span></p>

Feeded from the above mentioned TR-144, it will produce about 20 watts on 13 cm - enough to work with a small 60 cm-dish here in Germany. Due to the 10 MHz-reference input, you&#39;ll stay on the selected frequency.</span></p>

Many hams use an SDR or even WebSDR-services, but I like the analog feeling of the VFO-knob. :-) </span></p>

Unfortunately there was no option for a pan-adapter.</span></p>

Its receiver is very sensitive and the tx-modulation sounds pleasant. I have the old version with the passband-tuning, that might help in difficult reception cases. </span></p>
