There is a patient named Kevin and a therapist named Dr. Fletcher. The doctor seems passionate about psychology and is working to get more people to believe that DID is a real disorder. Kevin has many personalities. They are all different from each other and have diff names. There are 2 popular girls and 1 outcast at a school. They were getting into one of the girls' dad's car so the dad could drive them home but then Kevin injured the dad and got into the driver's seat of the car. He then takes the 3 teenage girls to an underground-looking tunnel system with rooms. It doesn't look like a house. He locks them up there. Throughout the movie, Dr. Fletcher works with Kevin's many personalities to help him. She praised him to be one of her best patients who has held a steady job for a long time. But then she starts getting contacted for therapy sessions in the middle of the night by one of his personalities. But often when Kevin shows up, the personality that he brings "to light" tells the doctor that there isn't anything wrong. The girls try to escape with no luck. One night, Dr. Fletcher comes to Kevin's place. Things seem to be going well and she was just about to leave when she decides to ask to use the bathroom and scope around. She finds one of the girls in a room and cries. She tells Kevin that this is wrong and that it's a crime. Kevin knocks her out. Kevin's "beast" personality that comes to light is bad. The doctor didn't believe that the beast was real. And DID was indeed exaggerated here, but in the movie, the concept of the beast was that it's tall, strong, muscular, and superpowered. Apparently the beast wants to punish those who are impure and also eat them. The doctor finds out that Kevin has a mental disorder because he was abused by his mom. She wasn't a very nice woman. And whenever she called his name, he would be scared. So the doctor knows that she can often call Kevin by his real full name, and then a certain (good) personality will come to light. The beast ends up killing the therapist. Before she died, she wrote his full name on a piece of paper so that the girls would see. One of the girls Casey finds it. She brings his good personality to light. He sees the dead therapist, learns what he did, and tells Casey about a gun and asks her to kill him. She gets the bullets and shoots at Kevin who has become the beast again. Apparently the beast is superpowered and is only injured, not dead. He is about to come after her but then he sees the scars on her body from when she was abused by her uncle. (Casey's uncle takes care of her, since her dad passed away from a heart attack.) The beast says that she is pure and doesn't kill her. She finds her way out of the tunnels and ends up at a zoo, where an employee finds her and calls the police. A police woman asks if she is ready to see her uncle, as he is here, but Casey doesn't look ready. Now is when she probably tells the woman that her uncle is abusive. Casey was an outcast because she would get in trouble on purpose to end up in detention, probably so she could avoid spending more time with her uncle. In one of her flashbacks, it looks like she nearly uses a gun to shoot her uncle, but doesn't do so before her uncle gets a hold of the gun. DID looks totally psycho. I wouldn't want to work with patients like that!
