Sandhu was once referred to as a ā€œhuman caffeine shotā€ by BBC RADIO 4 due to his high energy and infectiously positive nature Tommy now hosts his own weekly Podcast (Tommys Brownload) with Sony Music India and tv shows with Colors Tv and Zee Tv |url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/tommysandhu/biography.shtml | title=BBC Radio Asian Network: Tommy Sandhu's Biography |accessdate=17 May 2009}} In August 2017, Sandhu was asked to take leave from his show while an investigation took place involving BBC staff. Through a combination of mis management at the BBC and gossip among staff, an incorrect article in the Daily Mail wrongly reported that Tommy Sandhu had been suspended from his post as the BBC Asian Network's breakfast host. This is factually incorrect. Sandhu was never suspended and was merely assisting in a staff investigation. Despite never writing or saying any comments that were deemed inappropriate, nor receiving any complaints from anyone he has worked with in all his time, Sandhu was let go from his No.1 rated Asian radio show The breakfast show has subsequently lost over 100,000 listeners since his departure Sandhu has returned to the BBC and worked on BBC radio 2 as well as making several appearances on local BBC stations when promoting his Brownload Comedy Tour Sandhu was recently seen in an Indian radio studio alongside artists such as Nucleya, Farhan Akhtar and Palak Muchhal.
