You need to talk to Sputtervalve, the goblin in Ratchet who gives the Samophlange quest. He is by the flight master and will NOT have a question mark over his head.

Sputtervalve will tell you to talk to Falla Sagewind. She is on top of the mountain directly southwest of the Crossroads.

The glowing shard drops from Mutanus the Devourer, the giant Murloc boss at the end of WC.

After you have killed the 4 leaders of the fang, you can talk to the tauren at the start of the instance to summon Mutanus. The tauren will slowly lead you to the boss's lair, but will be attacked by mobs periodically along the way. Once in the lair he will begin summoning the boss, but again waves of mobs will try to attack him, which you must kill.

You need to speek with Sputtervalve he is the Goblin RIGHT NEXT to the FP master in Ratchet after that go back to WC and Right on top of the Moutain is the Druid in a Hut... loot at Screan show for where she is.

Sputtervalve doesn't say anything about Fella Sagewind, and she is ABOVE WC not on either of the mountains directly Southwest of ratchet, WC is West of Ratchet!

Sputtervalve is the guy that gives you the Samophlange quests - easy to miss for me because he didn't have a "?" over his head.

Anyway, my lvl 21 Shaman turned the shard over for 2650 XP without a single fight.

For the final step AFTER you speak to sputtervalve in Ratchet, speak to Falla Sagewind at 48,32. I had to climb the mountain from the west side but there might be another way up. She'll give you part 2 which is called 'In Nightmares'

Hey guys..it is not in the little cave above the WC.. She is fat tauren sitting in a tent on top of the mountain that WC is situated. Just go straight up and follow the coords and she will be there with a yellow ? on top of her head. Easy 2650EXP no dramas and no fighting.

When you've the shard right-click to get the quest.

The first thing you've to do after you get out of Wailing Cavens(WC)is talking to Sputtervalve in ratchet.
Loc of Sputtervalve: 62,37

The next you've to do is move back to Lushwater oasis. On the top of WC, where Falla Sagewind is waiting for you. Reward : 2650xp(@22)

Loc of Falla Sagewind: 48,32

Get the WC quest "Leaders of the Fang," because it's on the way. Finish it. When you've killed all 4 leaders, go back to the entrance to the instance, and talk to the Disciple who's waiting there.

He will ask you to escort him through to the sleeper. Defend him. When the sleeper awakes, make sure you loot the gem "The Glowing Shard" from the corpses left on the ground. CLICK ON IT TO START THE QUEST "THE GLOWING SHARD."

Go to Ratchet. Talk to the guy named "Sputtervalve" who is standing under a little awning by the ocean, inside the town, by the warf. There's no little yellow dot on your minimap, but you can handle it. :-) Very carefully, read everything he has to say. This isn't a regular quest, just a discussion with him.

Then go back to the mountain over WC. Climb up one of the spines to get to the very top of the mountain, and talk to the Tauren Druid at the top. She'll give you the "In Nightmares" quest.

Now, fly to Thunder Bluff. Or walk. Whatever, dude.

Go to the Elder Rise, and talk to Hamuul Runetotem. He's in the big tent, with a yellow dot and a question mark on his head, thank goodness. He'll let you complete the quest. I got a crap pair of boots and 2000 exp. :-)

you don't have to do the leaders of the fang quest, you just have to kill the 4 lords/ladys to be able to wake naralax.

Once you talk to Sputter in Ratchet head back to Cross roads. From the Cross roads find the graveyard south of town which is WEST off the road. Once at the graveyard face SW and youll see a Tree thats really FAT and wide. The rock formation behind the tree is the RAMP you need to get up the mountain and runs you right into the DRUID and it does show up as a yellow dot. The druid is inside a hut.

I did it in lvl 22... So i don't see why you shouldn't be able to complete... Try getting a new Shard :p ?

Able to ACQUIRE it at 11, able to ACCEPT the quest at the minimal lvl of 15. The max exp you get total is 4650 xp. No more, no less. If ppl are confused as to where the npc is, it is not the cave above the entrance of wc, but BEHIND wc is a huge mountain. On top of that mountain is where you'll find Falla Sagewind.

Talk to ratchet dude, go see druid on top of mountain just w of crossroads for 2650 exp, get quest from her to deliver the shard to Elder Rise in Thunder bluff for another 2000 exp and your choice of mail boots or cloth shoulder.BTW I was Lv20 when I did it.

After Sputtervalve tells you who to see, you can actually go to the Crossroads Graveyard. There is a staircase like rock structure Southwest of that, and it leads you directly to her hut.

I did the quest with my lvl 15 alli druid... a lvl 47 lock friend took me through... if ur lost and cant find the yellow dot in Ratchet... it's not there... the person is RIGHT nxt 2 the FP, and he also gives another quest: Samophlange, and his name is: Sputtervalve... Enjoy :)

#1. Go to Ratchet and talk to Sputterive, he is right next to the FP.

#2. Go back to the FP and take it to Crossroads. (or run up from Ratchet. Either way you are headed for the mountain that holds the wailing caverns.

#3. Run south out of crossroads and you will come face to face with the mountain that holds the wailing caverns.

#4. Go to the southeast side of the mountain and you will find a spot where you can run up the ridge. You will see Fleeting Plainstriders on the ridge. Run up the hill and you will see a wind powered stone grinder spinning. Next to the grinder you will see a small building. Inside the building you will turn in your quest to Falla Sagewind. I was a lvl 20 Rogue and got 2650 xp.

1. Go to Ratchet and talk to Sputterive, he is right next to the FP. u won't see any yellow dots .. u just have to talk to him.

2. run to mountains WC go to the top of the mountain .. house right in the center top of the mountain ...u should see falla sagewind in the house !

in the picture just look at the lil map on the right top hand cornor ^.^ center of mountains

Ok kill all fanglords then dude at beginning say start the event then he goes to naralex then you kill giant murloc he dreams of then he drops shard then you go to ratchet talk to dude by tent then go to chick on top of WC and then ally go to darnassus not shure were horde go tho

WOW, my lvl 17 shammy did this for 2650 xp and he got those very nice shoulderpads you get during the next part of the chain. very cool. something tells me a lvl 17 shouldnt be doing this quest, but this is what lvl 60 rogues run you through WC for :)

Well worth doing. After killing the drood bosses do the escort off the tauren dude. Survive and the giant murloc comes. pawn his ass (3 manned it) and get the object that starts the quest. 2650 for hand in then another 2000 for finishing in TB. 4600xp for talking to two npcs aint bad at all

I tried this twice. Lvl 16 priest..killed the lord, did the escort, killed the murloc..everyone in group recieves the shard..but me. Neither time did it drop a shard for me. I thought it always dropped. I dont get what i am doing wrong. I am in range, i am able to loot everything ELSE the murloc drops but there is never a shard for me. I never gotten one before either. It is very frustrating...

Note, Sputtervalve does not show a yellow question mark over his head. You have to talk to him, and he will give you a white bubble option.

- Talk to Sputtervalve in Ratchet (62,37 - Barrens). He's right next to the wind rider handler.
- Talk to Falla Sagewind on top of the Wailing Caverns mountain (48,32 - Barrens). Yes, right up at the top. She gives you 2650xp and the quest In Nightmares.
- Talk to Hamuul Runetotem on Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff (78,28 - Thunder Bluff). Another 2000 xp.

In total, it's a very easy 4650 xp for a bit of running and flying.

Sputtervalve does not show as a quest (no yellow ?)

With Falla Sagewind (48,32) you can see the Tauren Windmill high on the mountain while you are on the flatlands. The direction I found easiest to climb the mountain was East South East of the Windmill near the road going south from Crossroads.

Coordinates are 48.16 32.85, after you visit Ratchet. The quest guy in Ratchet is near the FP and will probably be giving other quests out.

First go to ratchet, talk to Spluttervalve (necto flight master) /way 62.98 37.20
then take flight master back to Crossroads -> WC to end the q: /way 48.16 32.85

She is on top of the mountain ! Not IN wailing caverns, not in the small cave above the entrance, nope, top of the hill

1) Glowing Shard is found on the mutant murloc in the Wailing Caverns after doing the event when speaking to the Disciple of Naralex.

2) Sputtervalve (coords 62.98 37.20) in Ratchet (next to the Flightmaster, by a small wooden table under a canopy) is the NPC you talk to regarding the shard.

3) He'll then direct you to a druid on the top of the mountain, Falla Sagewind, above (not inside) Wailing Caverns (coords 48.18,32.82). She will unlock the next quest: In Nightmares/In Nightmares (which has a choice of quest rewards: Talbar Mantle or Quagmire Galoshes).

For this quest, talk to a goblin at Ratchet named Sputtervalve. He is standing near the flight master. There's a shaded area behind the flight master which contains a blue and a green tarp. Sputtervalve is standing under the green tarp. His exact coordinates are 65.7, 65.6

When you click him, his dialogue will give you an option to tell you more about the crystal, so select that and it will complete the quest for you. Then go to the druid on top of Wailing Caverns, then go to Thunder Bluff.

Description
