Significant Coastal Impacts to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Tropical Storm Nolo to Impact Hawaii

A strong coastal storm will bring moderate to major coastal flooding, strong winds, heavy rainfall and high surf to the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Tropical Storm Nolo is expected to strengthen into a hurricane today as it moves north toward the Big Island of Hawaii. Gusty Conditions Thursday and Friday

Gusty conditions are expected Thursday and Friday along the coast and east of the Cascades. Strong south winds of 20 to 35 mph are possible along the coast and southwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected east of the Cascades. Light to moderate rain showers are expected from the Cascades west. East of the Cascades, winds and low humidity will combine to bring elevated fire weather concerns before cooler temperatures and higher humidities arrive on Friday. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Be sure to secure loose objects on your property.
