A person was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing McKnight Road on Friday night, Ross Township police said.First responders were dispatched around 9 p.m. to the crash scene near Red Roof Inn and InTown Suites on McKnight Road, between Nelson Run Road and Babcock Boulevard. Deputy Chief Brian Kohlhepp said the person was in the southbound lanes when he was struck. There were no other injuries.The man hit and killed has been identified as William D. McClendon, 61. McKnight Road was closed to southbound traffic while police investigated at the scene. Northbound traffic was down to one lane.The incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story.
