Wagler's Pit Viper

The Wagler's viper, also known as the temple viper, is a medium-sized snake commonly found in the lowland forests and mangroves of Southeast Asia. Measuring up to 4 feet in length, it is named for the heat-sensing pits located just behind its nostrils, which enable it to detect and locate warm-blooded prey. This remarkable adaptation makes it an efficient hunter in its lush and diverse habitat.
