Synopsis
Watanabe Gisuke, 77, is a retired university professor who has lost his wife and lives alone in a traditional Japanese house that has been passed down since his grandfather’s generation. He wakes up at the same time every morning, cooks his own meals, and takes great care of his clothes and stationery. He sometimes drinks with a few close friends and invites his students over for dinner. His days pass peacefully as he calculates how many more years his savings will last with this lifestyle. While Gisuke lives such a peaceful life, one day, an ominous message appears on the computer screen in his study saying, “The enemy is coming.”
