Come to Dolcemascolo for something sweet in the morning, and then return for some wine and savory stuffed pastries at night. There are a few tables inside, but the sunny patio out front is where you’ll want to be. The pistachio almond swirl is sweet, sticky, and gooey in the center, studded with raisins. And the chewy potato or tomato pizzette and the extra-crispy mini sfogliatella are exactly what you want alongside a glass of rosé.
In addition to Pizzarium, Gabriele Bonci has a panificio in the same neighborhood, serving equally fantastic pizza and sweets.
Forno da Milvio sits on a lively cobblestone street in sight of the Colosseum, but the baked goods are borderline too delicious for you to notice the landmark.
