A tray of hot pan suisse, pulled straight from the oven, has frequently swayed our order at Forno Monteforte. These crispy, laminated squares crack open to reveal pools of melted dark chocolate and rich cream. On top of that, you’ve got buttery croissants, classic pizzas, and seasonal carnevale treats. Don’t leave without trying the dense, moist apple cake—it tastes like a neighbor with an apple tree baked it fresh that morning. The place buzzes with the sound of clinking coffee cups and the smell of pizza baking, so it’s perfect for any breakfast or sweet treat outing.

In addition to Pizzarium, Gabriele Bonci has a panificio in the same neighborhood, serving equally fantastic pizza and sweets.
Forno da Milvio sits on a lively cobblestone street in sight of the Colosseum, but the baked goods are borderline too delicious for you to notice the landmark.
