ONE has been in disarray since November 2023, when a bungled Series C funding raise led to the demotion of CEO Mujeeb Ijaz and a major layoff.

Ijaz was reinstated as CEO in March 2025.

In February 2024, chief scientist Steven Kaye said he would leave the company, suggesting that ONE would no longer pursue its most ambitious R&D objectives in EVs.
