Has anyone heard of a real adventure version of our bike? I've heard of a report in the French press that included a photo/mock-up or was it all just wishful thinking on someone's part?

Not sure why Triumph would need this when they have the Tiger 850 Sport which has most of the off-road fashion items such as the impractical high level exhaust getting in the way of luggage, pointless beak, and 19" front wheel, albeit cast not spoked. The 850 also has the unequal firing order which is supposedly better for off-road use.

Even if they produced an adventure style 660 I think it unlikely that they would fit 17" spoked wheels or change the front to a 19", and I also think it very unlikely that they would re-engineer the 660 motor for an uneven firing order, so I think it would be an entirely cosmetic makeover.

I'm sure I watched one of those press interview videos at launch with the Triumph guy where he pretty much confirmed (or certainly didn't deny the suggestion) that there were further plans for the 660 platform which would include a more off-road biased non sport Tiger variant.

Maybe next year.  Not that I'm interested as I don't see the point in having an off-road adventure dad bike that's never going to go further off-road than a gravel firepath somewhere, if that.

Here's a view of the mockup if anyone's interested: https://www.thetriumphforum.com/attachments/660xs-png.152370/

I echo BillyHey's sentiment and add that I would be rather interested in a larger, high-performance of the current 660 instead.

I tend to agree that a big brother to the current bike should be on Triumph's radar now that the 660 has proven the popularity of the concept.  Having said that, I probably wouldn't be in the market for such a bike as I don't need the extra performance and wouldn't want the inevitable extra weight, having downsized from bigger bikes to the TS660 to get something more manageable for my aging body! The current bike is in the sweet spot for me - light but very capable for solo touring with luggage as proven by a recent trip to the south of France, while still being sporty enough for shorter local blasts.

Agreeing with Fred here. I chose the TS660 because it is a good combination of sporty, power, touring-ability and light-weight.  With the bags on, I can apparently cover 5,500kms over a week.   With the bags off, it's fun for blasting around town.

I looked at the bigger Tigers and other sport-touring bikes... I'm not looking for a big brother.

TS660 can do 95% of what I can do with my 2020 Tiger Sport 1050  :028:
Although I admit missing my 2008 Sprint ST 1050 at times

Adding cornering ABS to the current model would go a long way to reducing my interest in a larger version, at least until I see how comfortable it is at long-range touring for tall people.

I threw a set of Pirelli Scorpion's on my ts660 early on and other than the obvious problems with ABS you can't disable, it's already a very capable bike on the dirt. A rally version is probably the only reason I'd even consider trading at this point.
