Summer Prayer Ideas

Looking for a way to recharge this summer?
We think of vacations when we think of Summer. We also think of recharging our stressed lives and having time with our families. As we do that, let us take time to recharge our prayer life.
- Pray with your children more -- meal times, travel times, bedtime, before a summer activity
- At the beach, try sculpting a prayer in the sand -- make it a fun time to create something you are praying for.
- Hiking? This is a great time to pray for the people on your prayer list.
- Have a week of spare time? Create a prayer garden. A prayer bench. Something for your home or church that reminds people to pause and pray.
- Try prayer walking
- Start a new book on prayer
- Start a prayer journal for yourself or for your whole family. List prayers and answers
- Are you flying somewhere? Take time to pray for the pilot and those serving on the flight. Praying also for each passenger.
- Driving for a few hours? Make some flash cards of questions to ask your children. Any topic can be fun. Write questions that cannot be answered with yes or no, such as: What is the silliest thing you ever prayed for? Who do you want to see first in heaven?
- Write a book about prayer. (If you do please share it with us!)
- Start a 10-day prayer event in your church (or even a 40 day)
