Sergeant Major Heriberto Quintana hails from New York City, New York. He completed Infantry Basic Combat Training and Advance Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

SGM Quintana has served in a wide variety of key leadership position and developmental assignments throughout his career. From Reconnaissance Platoon Team Leader with the 82nd Airborne Division, North Carolina to his last leadership assignment as Garrison Command Sergeant Major for Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

SGM Quintana’s military schools include all Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System schools with the exception of Master Leaders Course, Brigade Pre-Command Course, First Sergeants Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Army Basic Instructor Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Training Developers Middle Managers Course, and numerous other functional courses.

SGM Quintana has earned the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), The Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), The Army Achievement Medal with (2 OLC), Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal (1 Bronze Service Star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Service Medal (2 BSS), GWOT Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (1 BSS), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Silver with Mobilization device), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Emirate of Kuwait), Army Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Public Health Service Outstanding Unit Citation, Overseas Ribbon, the Combat Infantry Badge, The Expert Infantry Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, The Parachutist Badge, The Air Assault Badge, The United Arab Emirates Parachutist Badge, and the German Armed Forces Schutzenschnur Badge.

SGM Quintana has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Psychology from Park University, Parkville, Missouri.

SGM Quintana is the proud father of four children: a daughter and son residing in Texas, one stepdaughter residing in North Carolina, and his stepson, SFC Jordan Trimmer, is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
