This means that the result is dependent on the default decimal format. Is that the default decimal format used by the query/transformation/path expression, or some other default for serialization? Note that by default in XQuery, format-number of infinity would be "Infinity", not "INF" as expected in the test suite. I suggest that the specification be reworded to state a specific default decimal format for the adaptive serialization method, perhaps using INF for the infinity symbol.
